I think that your site looks great. Yo have a good layout and it’s easy to find information. I really like your home page animation and think you did a great job, though i think it looked better when you had some of the planets moving in opposite directions. Honestly, though, I don’t know how their orbits really go. The best would be to do what’s realistic, but I don’t know how hard that would be.

I think that you are absolutely right in putting some animation in the site. I think that is one of the big reasons to use Flash. Also, I think that it will make the learning process more fun. That being said, however, don’t kill yourself trying to make it work. Your site is looking really good.

Going from AS2 to AS3 is going “I think” to be the biggest step for you. Taking flash 2(again) i have seen the differences and they can be a little confusing. If you want i can show you what book we are using in that class if it will help

I think you have some great ideas. The quizes you want to implement sound like a good idea. As for the actionscript 3.0 transition, it is pretty tough. I would start looking at event listeners first. That’s really the biggest change. That and datatyping everything!

ClassTools.net is a really cool site. I was planning on creating a simple quiz for mine, but I’m thinking now that I will look into something on here. Or maybe keep my original idea for the quiz, but add a game for another part. Either way, thanks for the link.

I agree with everyone here. I was about to do a lesson on the UK site, but it wasn’t as fun and interactive as it could be. I though the actual information was valuable, but it maybe could be presented in a better way. And you’re right, it would make it interesting if there were some activities that went along with the information.

You might want to check on what I wrote about in my blog in iTunes U that had to do with the solar system because that might relate to the topic you’re dealing with on your site.

Yeah I agree with you It is difficult for me to learn anything just by reading it. I have to really be interested in the subject to read about and even then I don’t like to read about it haha. So switching thing up a bit would help a lot when trying to create a online course.

I agree with you on not having enough images and interactivity. For me, it seemed like I had opened a textbook. I got good information, but lost interest halfway through mine. I don’t think that learning has to be a video game, but the more interesting we can make it, the better.

I haven’t actually gone in and tried to use Ning, but the way you describe it, it sounds pretty easy. I will have to look into using Ning for a future site. I think the concept of using social networking for e-learning seems like it would have a strong implementation, but I would like to see how it would actually play out on my e-learning site. Also, I liked that you picked to research Skype and Mash-ups, I need to look more into those. Great analysis!
